Pre-emptive Strike

Just sos yuose nose... I officially requested either an Athlon 64 X2 5000+ or Athlon 64 FX62 from AMD this morning. The gentleman in question is "out of office" until Monday and I won't hear back until at least then. But I'm going to warn you now: it ain't going to happen.

If I already know this, why ask? Because the next time I do an Intel processor no one out there in AMDland can accuse me of being married to Intel. If AMD won't cooperate, there's nothing I can do about it. I had to beg the FX60 from Monarch Computer (bless 'em!) and I could only test it for 4 days before they needed it back. If I wasn't so damn good and hadn't been doing this for so long, it would have been impossible to retest if any anomalies had surfaced.

So, to sum it up, I don't preference Intel chips over AMD. I just get more cooperation from Intel, even though I tell the truth about both.

Monday is President's Day. You're not hearing back on Monday either! Our readership needs to realize that we can only test what we can get our grubby hands on, or justify for a personal purchase.

"...or justify purchasing for personal use." ;-)

Yeah, I know, but that's what the auto reply said and, if you can't believe a person's auto-reply, what can you believe?
