Belkin’s TunePower® for iPod Video

What's almost as bad as not having an iPod? I think most would agree that it's having an iPod with no battery power. Belkin is introducing the TunePower to keep the juice up and the tunes going!

Belkin’s new TunePower for iPod video keeps your videos and tunes playing even when the internal battery is drained. Giving you up to six hours of additional video playtime*, this rechargeable battery pack lets you finish your movie and catch up on the shows you missed last week. The TunePower for iPod video will ship in North America in late March 2006.

The iPod video allows for approximately two hours of video viewing, which may not be enough to last until you reach your iPod dock. TunePower will give you this extra time so you can watch your videos, making it ideal for long flights, hikes, or for anytime you do not have access to an AC outlet. Two sleeves are included to fit the 30GB and 60GB iPod video devices. It features a protective case design to prevent dirt, dust, or impact from damaging the connector.

An AC adapter is included for simultaneous charging and playing. The TunePower also features a small and compact design with a low-level power indicator so you can monitor when batteries are low.

I see this type of device very useful for those times that you want the iPod to work, and it is just not convenient to plug into an outlet. Cross country flight may just have gotten a little less boring. Plus, it looks like the iPod has donned a MechWarrior suit, and that is quite cool!

The TunePower will available later this month, for $79.99 retail. A small price to pay to not have to watch those outdated airline videos through those junky headsets.

No, I'm happy to put up product announcements for any manufacturer that sends them to us that is of a new product, and likely to be of some relevance to the readership. I'm on several mailing lists, so stay tuned.

We're completely independent, and don't even have any advertising, so there's no interest here, financial or otherwise.

Oh, and I don't own any stocks either.
