Windows Defender (Beta 2)

Nasty spyware is everywhere, and just waiting to overcome an unsuspecting user’s PC. There is no shortage of antispyware software choices out there- some paid and some free. As the dominant operating system, Windows users are especially vulnerable to the constant onslaught of spyware apps.

An ounce of prevention is clearly needed here. While Windows XP should have had better protection built in, it simply doesn’t. Don’t panic quite yet, as the Microsoft folks have a deal for you. At least for the time being, if you are running Windows XP, Service Pack 2, you can download Windows Defender for the amazingly low price…of free! It is an upgrade from Microsoft’s first attempt at better security, Microsoft AntiSpyware.
