Amazon Update
I've been looking around for a GPS unit over the summer months. I decided on the Garmin StreetPilot. As the 330 was going for $400 at Circuit city, and I could get the flash card based 320 at Amazon for $318, it really became a no brainer. Amazon sent me the unit by postal service four days earlier than initially promised. I have the unit up and running, and there will be a full review posted. In the meantime, if you're in the market for such a device, I will say that it is definitely worth checking out.
I wanted to see if there were any updated reviews on the product at Amazon, and I noticed that the price had dropped to $309. While $9 won't exactly change anyone's life (I can't even get a pizza by me unless its frozen and a small personal one), I looked on their web site to see if they had a price adjustment policy; there was no reference to one. I did a google search (notice that I avoided the use of Google as a verb), and read this. I decided to give it a shot.
I also had to write to them for another issue anyway. On their website, they clearly list an AC adaptor as coming with the unit under technical details. There was none included. When I checked on the Garmin site, it doesn't appear that this unit is supposed to include this, apparently it's an optional accessory. I decided to point this out to Amazon hoping that they would change their product page so that others would be aware of what's really included.
I was quite surprised to find out that they are refunding me the cost of an AC adapter, to the tune of sixty something dollars! Between the two issues, I'll be getting $70 back on my account.
It's real nice when a company shows some respect to their customers, and backs it up with some green. Now back to our regularly scheduled bashing...
