Holiday Shopping
Get ready, get set, go! The day after Thanksgiving is popularly known as “Black Friday.” The name comes from retailer’s accountants that talk about businesses that go from “the red,” unprofitabilty, to “the black,” profitability, all in the hum of a cash register ringing.
Black Friday is also the busiest shopping day of the year. Sites such as bfads.net and blackfriday.info have been helping to spread the word by posting the ads of plenty of retailers on this important shopping day. With all the activity expected, competition is fierce for those holiday shopping dollars.
I’ve gone through the circulars, and decided on my purchase. I’ve been going around in circles trying to figure out the best solution to my printer problems. After some research and thought, I’ve decided that a disposable laser printer is the way to go. Staples has the Samsung ML-2010 for just under $40 after rebates. In my mind, for less than the price of a new set of inkjet cartridges, I can have the affordability and crisp text of a laser printer. I’m more than ready to sacrifice color printing for that.
The only problem is that, ahem, some of us have to work on Friday. No fear, the sale is only on for the convenient times of 6 am to 10 am. I guess I’ll be waking up a little earlier on Friday. A good deal is worth trading some shut eye over, no?
Happy Thanksgiving to all, and good luck shopping on “Black Friday.”
