Color Lasers Drop In Price
I've thought for a while that it's just a matter of time before color lasers get affordable enough for the home market. I've been quite pleased with my monochrome laser, and with the printing costs under control, I don't hesitate to print pages like I used to. Obviously, the one thing that I miss is color output. I figured when I bought this printer that when the time to replace it came, that I'd be able to get a color laser on the cheap, and I expected to see some under $200 prices for the ultra competitive back to school summer season in a few months.
At any rate, for the upcoming President's day sale, it is expected that Staple's will have a printer for sale for $150 after rebate. I've reproduced the part below, but all the pages can be seen here.

While none of us are in love with rebates, this is a name brand color laser printer at an incredible price. While I won't be jumping on board now, it's clear evidence of sub $200 color lasers in the year ahead. For the price of some inkjet replacement cartridges, this type of printer becomes an affordable deal.
